Holly Cross Vagley
Capital Campaign Finance Co-Chair, Jill's House, Inc.A Midwesterner, Holly Cross Vagley acted and sang her way through high school and college, earning a BFA from the University of Kansas.
With little religious exposure while growing up, she drifted into non-belief.
Happily, God had another plan.
Time, introspection, and a car accident showed Holly her need for Jesus Christ. She then studied under the founder of a life-changing women’s ministry, met and married Bob Vagley and took on her most cherished role, that of step mom to Bob’s two wonderful daughters. Her life was transformed.
As an actor and singer she’s traveled the world, performing as a soloist at some of the world's most luxurious hotel and cruise ship venues, including the MGM Grand and the QE2; she’s appeared in numerous TV and film productions, had starring roles at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and has performed at the White House.
On September 10, 2001 she was headed for Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera. Again, God had another plan. That Saturday, still struggling to accept the events of 9/11, she sang at a friend’s funeral, which was internationally televised.
The response was overwhelming. Friends and strangers began asking for a CD of the contemporary Christian music she was writing and singing at worship services and for other Church events.
With her husband, Bob, and a team of Grammy-winning music professionals, they created and released Holly’s debut CD, Naked (Job 1:21), which won the 2006 Wammie Awards ("DC’s Grammy") for Best Gospel Vocalist and Best Gospel Recording.
And the story goes on...
