Brenda Solomon was raised in Hagerstown, Maryland, in a Christian family where the church was the center of everything they did. She holds a degree in Christian Education from Washington Bible College, where she met Lon. They married in 1974 and went on to have four wonderful children — Jamie, Justin, Jon and Jill. Brenda was a stay-at-home mom during their formative upbringing.
Brenda became a mother of a child with special needs in 1992 when Jill was born and her life was forever changed. She knows first-hand the struggles families like hers face. After seeing the difference respite care made in the lives of their family, Lon and Brenda wanted to ensure that other families had the same opportunity to receive a much-needed break. This desire led to the founding of Jill’s House. Brenda’s aim is to increase awareness of the plight of families raising children with special needs and to tell of the hope that will be offered at Jill’s House.
In addition to her involvement with Jill’s House, Brenda keeps busy as a Bible study leader, pastor’s wife, grandmother and mother to Jill.
