There are various ways to partner with Jill’s House and make a difference in the lives of families with children with intellectual disabilities.
Engaging God’s Church to Embrace an Overlooked Population.
Families raising children with special needs are an overlooked, underserved population. Just in the National Capital Area alone, there are 40,000 children with special needs. The complexity of raising a child who requires 24/7 care often debilitates a family, giving them little to no freedom to run errands, go to work, go to church, see family and friends, spend time on their marriage, spend time with their typical children–the list goes on and on. This is just the logistics of raising a child with special needs. Learn More
Weeknights at Jill’s House – Want to bring overnight respite to students with intellectual disabilities?
Through “Weeknights at Jill’s House”, children with intellectual disabilities stay overnight every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at our Tysons location during the school year. We partner with local schools, both private and public, to provide weekly/biweekly overnight respite care to their students with intellectual disabilities. The program includes transportation to and from school.
If you are a parent or school administrator and want to start a Weeknights at Jill’s House program in your school, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us for more information!
