About our Respite Lodge
At our “respite lodge” in the Washington, D.C., area, every room, activity, mural, and staff member serve as a reflection of the immense value children with intellectual disabilities have. This 42,000 square-foot resort was created to give these children an unforgettable overnight experience that they cannot get anywhere else, all under the loving and skilled supervision of highly trained staff and nurses. And while the kids are having the time of their lives with friends, their parents can rest, knowing their child is in safe, loving, and highly skilled hands.

Stories of Love and Compassion

The Nelson Family
If you were to drive through our neighborhood, you might catch Emily and me cruising around in our golf cart. I’m sure it’s a funny sight.

The Sullivan Family
Kids with special needs might be overwhelming or intimidating to some people. God doesn’t make mistakes, and He has a plan for every single person on this planet. Everyone at Jill’s House seems to know that; they embrace that, and they love and serve our kids and families so beautifully!

The Schutz Family
When our family wondered where we belonged, Jill’s House welcomed us with open arms. They didn’t overlook our differences or try to smooth them away. They said, because of your differences, because of your unique needs, you belong here.
