About our Respite Lodge
At our “respite lodge” in the Washington, D.C., area, every room, activity, mural, and staff member serve as a reflection of the immense value children with intellectual disabilities have. This 42,000 square-foot resort was created to give these children an unforgettable overnight experience that they cannot get anywhere else, all under the loving and skilled supervision of highly trained staff and nurses. And while the kids are having the time of their lives with friends, their parents can rest, knowing their child is in safe, loving, and highly skilled hands.

The Yao Family
Mimi does not regularly interact with people outside of school and at home, so Jill’s House has become another home for her. Jill’s House provides stability and predictability for her.

The Kalata Family
Although Jill’s House is his special place, and the experiences are unique for him, we all feel like we have won the lottery. He looks forward to his visits so much that we can’t help but feel grateful in our hearts.

The Mann Family
When you first look at respite care, there can be a little bit of guilt. But it’s nice to know that we can do something with our other children, or something for the two of us, and Isaac will also be having a good time with people we trust.
